Boom Media Global, Inc. Dispel the 10,000 Hour Rule about Becoming an Expert

There is a common belief that dedicating 10,000 hours of practice into something will result in someone becoming an expert in that field, known as the 10,000-hour rule. However, CEO at Boom Media Global, Inc. Edwin Jacques is dispelling the myth.

The 10,000-hour rule was the subject of one of the West Palm Beach-based firm’s recent morning meetings. Mr. Jacques firmly believes that expertise is gained by the way someone practices, not the number of hours they devote to it stating; “There is a common belief that practice makes perfect; however, perfect practice makes perfect.” The Boom Media Global, Inc. CEO argues that success is the result of good habits implemented daily and that if someone wants to become an expert at something, they need to have applied, structured, focused practice to make perfect habits.

Mr. Jacques hypothesis was backed up by the co-author of “Peak Performance: Elevate Your Game, Avoid Burnout, and Thrive with the New Science of Success,” Brad Stulberg. Speaking to Business Insider, Stulberg stated that psychological research indicates expertise is developed based on the way someone practices, rather than the time devoted.

At Boom Media Global, Inc. they are dedicated to the development of their workforce, providing them with the tools to navigate the journey to success. The firm offers a blueprint to business ownership. Their non-seniority business model and commitment to promoting from within means that every manager at the firm has to master the ground level before moving up the ladder.

They promote a culture of working together and learning from each other.  They urge their workforce to network, reaching out and learning from people who have already been there and have the hands-on experience to advise and guide them.

The sales and marketing specialists urge people to focus on what they can control, pitch, pace and attitude and that by applying perfect practice what they learn will become second nature.
